Prairie Junction is a Canadian country band built on authenticity, musicianship, and a shared passion for storytelling through music. Based in Edmonton, Alberta, the group brings together decades of experience, blending the soul of traditional country with the power and energy of classic rock influences.
Fronted by award-winning Canadian country singer-songwriter Chad Lodge, Prairie Junction has quickly earned a reputation for heartfelt performances, strong stage presence, and a sound that connects deeply with audiences everywhere they play.
At the heart of Prairie Junction is a group of musicians whose journeys into music all came from different paths, but whose passion for live performance brought them together at exactly the right time.
Leading the band is Chad Lodge, a respected and award-winning artist whose music career has been shaped by perseverance, passion, and real-life experiences. Born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, Chad discovered his love for music early in life, finding his voice as a teenager before teaching himself guitar at the age of sixteen. Songwriting quickly became more than a hobby—it became an outlet for telling stories rooted in everyday life, love, hardship, and resilience.
Throughout his early years, Chad built a strong reputation performing in singing competitions and sharing stages with established Canadian country artists such as Aaron Goodvin and Colleen Rae. His dedication to live performance led him to major Alberta stages including Big Valley Jamboree and Rainmaker Rodeo, while a standout performance at the Winspear Centre alongside the Edmonton & District Pipe Band showcased both his versatility and commanding stage presence.
Chad’s songwriting and vocal talent eventually earned international recognition. In 2010, his single “How Do You Sleep At Night,” written by acclaimed songwriters Jarry Sally and Jim McBride, reached #1 and won the Internet People’s Choice Award on Soulful Country Radio, generating attention as far away as Germany. Following the loss of his father and longtime musical supporter in 2017, Chad stepped away from music for a period of reflection and healing before making a powerful return in 2020.
That comeback marked a turning point in his career. His single “We Got It Made” climbed to #4 on the Canadian Indie Country Countdown, followed by “Home Again,” which reached #1 in 2021. Continuing to build momentum, Chad earned the 2024 ISSA Award for Best Male Country Single of the Year for his song “On The Dance Floor,” while also receiving additional International Singer-Songwriters Association nominations in 2026. Today, Chad continues to write, record, and perform music that resonates with listeners through honesty, emotion, and relatable storytelling.
Helping shape Prairie Junction’s signature sound is lead guitarist Allin Savard, whose lifelong connection to music began at an early age. Growing up surrounded by musicians, Allin picked up his first guitar at just twelve years old after being inspired by his uncles who played in a local band. Like many guitarists of his generation, he was heavily influenced by the legendary Eddie Van Halen, whose creativity, energy, and unmistakable style sparked a passion that would stay with him for life.
Entirely self-taught, Allin developed his skills by ear, spending endless hours listening to records, learning chords, and mastering songs through determination and natural instinct. His first setup was humble but unforgettable—a borrowed guitar plugged into his father’s home stereo while classic rock records played loudly in the background. During his high school years, he performed in several local bands alongside his brother Danny, sharpening both his musicianship and live performance skills.
Although life and family responsibilities eventually pulled him away from music for a time, the passion never truly disappeared. Years later, after purchasing guitars for his daughters, Allin found himself reconnecting with the instrument that had shaped so much of his life. Picking it back up felt immediate and natural, reigniting a musical spark that would soon lead him into a new chapter.
In 2022, Allin joined forces with Chad Lodge and drummer Rob Savard to help form Prairie Junction. While his roots are deeply planted in classic rock, he quickly embraced country music and developed a style that blends rock-inspired energy with tasteful country musicianship. Today, his guitar work adds soul, emotion, and power to every Prairie Junction performance.
Driving the rhythm and heartbeat of the band is drummer Rob Savard, whose dedication to music spans decades. Born in Edmonton in 1966, Rob discovered his love for drumming during his teenage years. After graduating high school and beginning full-time work, he purchased his very first drum kit in 1987—a purchase he still jokes cost more than his first car.
Inspired by legendary rock bands like Led Zeppelin, April Wine, and Triumph, Rob immersed himself in learning the craft of drumming. Determined to improve, he spent countless hours practicing and eventually attended music school to further develop his technique and musicianship. By the mid-1990s, while balancing work and life responsibilities, Rob set out to build a band of his own and pursue live performance more seriously.
Though success did not come easily, Rob’s passion for music never faded. For years, he continued chasing the dream simply because of his love for playing and entertaining audiences. Following the passing of his father in 2016, Rob felt inspired to fully reconnect with music once again, teaming up with his cousin Allin to begin playing together regularly.
That journey ultimately led to meeting Chad Lodge in the summer of 2022. Drawn immediately to Chad’s original music, acoustic style, and strong vocals, Rob knew they had found something special. Today, Rob continues doing what he loves most—sharing the stage with friends, connecting with audiences, and helping drive the energy behind Prairie Junction’s live performances.
Completing the lineup is bassist and background vocalist Chris Beaton, whose extensive musical background adds depth, versatility, and powerful stage presence to the band. Born in Lahr into a military family, Chris spent much of his early life moving before eventually settling in Alberta after making his way from New Brunswick.
A self-taught musician with more than thirty years of experience, Chris has spent decades mastering both bass and guitar while performing in numerous cover bands throughout New Brunswick. His musical foundation was built on everything from hard rock and classic metal to Top 40 hits, helping him develop strong technical skills and an energetic live style.
Although Prairie Junction marks Chris’s first major venture into country music, he embraced the challenge immediately. His influences range from legendary metal bands such as Iron Maiden and Scorpions to desert rock icons like Kyuss, Clutch, and Fu Manchu, while also drawing inspiration from country legends and modern artists including Johnny Cash, Kris Kristofferson, Cody Johnson, Dierks Bentley, and Chris Stapleton.
Chris credits legendary bassists Steve Harris, Billy Sheehan, and Rudy Sarzo as major influences on his playing style, bringing their same sense of power, precision, and stage energy into every performance. Since joining Prairie Junction as bass player and background vocalist, Chris has become an integral part of the band’s chemistry both on and off stage.
Together, Chad Lodge & Prairie Junction deliver a sound that is equal parts heartfelt country storytelling and high-energy live entertainment. Their music reflects real experiences, strong roots, and a shared love for performing that audiences can feel from the very first song.
